LES AMIS DE LA MONTAGNE'S ACTIVITIES FROM MARCH 3-12, 2012

Fresh air, discoveries and treats – the choices are many to enjoy a wonderful Spring Break with the family on Mont Royal in the company of Les amis de la montagne.
Here’s an overview of our family-friendly activities, both outdoors and indoors, being held from March 3-12, 2012, on Mont Royal.
COME AND PLAY OUTDOORS
Family snowshoeing and tubing
Daily from March 3-10, 2012. Strap on a pair of snowshoes and follow our guide along the mountain’s forested trails on the lookout for animal tracks and bird songs. Snowshoeing is followed by a complimentary hot cocoa at Maison Smith (1260 Chemin Remembrance) and inner-tubing on the hill near Lac aux Castors for the rest of the afternoon.
Skating and inner-tubing
The artificial skating rink located near the Lac aux Castors pavilion will remain open and maintained, and the inner-tubes for sliding in the reserved lanes will be available for rent until March 11, 2012 (depending on snow conditions).

COME IN FROM THE COLD – TO MAISON SMITH!
You can rely on a friendly welcome year-round at Maison Smith (1260 Chemin Remembrance). Les amis de la montagne inaugurated their new permanent exhibition, “Mont Royal, A Territory to Discover” with their partners last fall, an exhibition that is displayed throughout the ancestral house related to the mountain's historic, landscape and built heritage, as well as its flora and fauna. Dynamic exhibits, historic photos and mural illustrations, artefacts, audio-visual elements, interactive games and touch-screens, provide everything you’ll need to familiarize yourself with the mountain territory prior to heading outdoors. Free.
The Café des Amis is the ideal place for a wholesome lunch or snack in convivial surroundings: sandwiches, hot meals, hot and cold beverages, beer and wine, as well as sweet treats and our famous organic fair-trade hot chocolate. The nature boutique is where you can find our hospitable welcome and information centre staff, as well as educational gifts and original souvenirs of the mountain. Open daily, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., until March 12, 2012.
