How does the forest adapt to the changing seasons? Imagining themselves as photographers and equipped with cardboard cameras, students explore Mount Royal and "take pictures" of what they find interesting.
The Conservation and Education teams have joined forces to offer you an enriching day dedicated to the protection of Mount Royal's woodlands!
During the first phase of this day of activities, students will be invited to play an active role in preserving local biodiversity by participating in the manual control of the establishment of buckthorn, a plant species that represents a significant threat to Mount Royal's biodiversity. This activity will enable students to deepen their understanding of fundamental concepts in ecology, in particular the impact of disturbances on an ecosystem.
This will be followed by a hike that will enable your group to discover the many facets of Mount Royal. It addresses the many challenges involved in protecting the Mount Royal heritage site, while raising participants' awareness of the issues surrounding the conservation of natural environments and biodiversity, as well as urban planning, accessibility and the natural, built, historical and cultural heritage.
