
How did winter recreation develop on Mount Royal in the 19th century? Come and find out during this snowshoe hike, where you'll be introduced to the history of winter sports in Montreal and on the mountain, as well as the city's development in the 19th century, all while exploring the forest. During this journey through time, you'll also uncover some well-kept secrets of Mount Royal's winter wildlife and flora.
Our pedagogical approach involves a rich array of images and visual materials, observation and exploration of the environment, and association games, as well as group discussions. Participants will learn about the natural and cultural heritage of Mount Royal through a stimulating, immersive experience in an exceptional natural setting.
